The Shady Grove YMCA is just inside Twin Hickory, with outdoor fields, weight rooms, exercise areas, and Children playing socceran extensive array of fitness programs.  If your children are into soccer, they can follow the trails to the Striker Soccer Complex, where more than 3,500 children kick up their spikes every year.


Letter T win Hickory Elementary School and Deep Run High School are located within the community, so it’s not surprising to see kids walking or riding their bikes to school.  Short Pump Middle School is also conveniently located nearby, as well as Henrico County’s J.R. Tucker High School, which features excellent educational and sports facilities.

Nestled within the heart of the community is the accredited Primrose Daycare, which provides full and half-day quality childcare services and exceptional education programming for infants through Kindergarten.  The exciting Explorers Club offers excellent after school technology and creative arts adventures for children ages 5 through 12 years of age.

Modifications Reminder

Any improvements pertaining to the exterior appearance of homes and properties are subject to the Modifications Committee reviews. These modifications include, but are not limited to: fences, additions, sheds, play structures, vegetable gardens, and exterior color changes.

In addition to a completed property improvement application, please attach the following as applicable:

  1. Plot plan with proposed modification(s) to approximate scale with dimensions

  2. Complete description (photos/drawings) as to construction design, materials (types and sizes) and color/finish

  3. Floor plan, elevation, section drawing
    (i.e. footings)

Applications must be received by noon on Thursday prior to a Modifications Committee meeting.
